A Case of Idiopathic autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia

Abstract

|
Autoimmune hemolytic anemia is very rare disease which is characterized by the presence of monstrable abnormal antibodies in the blood which are produced by the body and are directed "nat its own red cells.
This case was a 13 years old male who complained of general weakness, fever, anemia & jaundice with hepatosplenomegaly for about 8 months duration.
ematologic and serologic findings showed severe anemia, reticulocytosis, spherocytosis, increased notic fragility, erythroid hyperplasia, & strong positive direct Coombs¢¥ test.
He was treated with steroid, and showed a good response with the antiglobulin test becoming ative.
